The next meeting of the Eastern Professional Wastewater Operators Committee will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017.  This meeting will be hosted by the Town of Vanceboro.  Please RSVP by May 5th to Jimmy Pridgen at (252) 205-2519 or jpridgen@wilsonnc.org.  This is an open meeting, and membership is not required to attend.  Please share the agenda with others who may be interested.

The Town of Vanceboro owns, operates, and maintains the Town of Vanceboro Wastewater Treatment Plant, permit #NC0031828, consisting of a manual grit removal and bar screen system, oxidation ditches, three (3) clarifiers, aerobic digester, tertiary filter system, chlorination contact basin, de-chlorination system, post aeration sludge drying beds, alum feed and polymer feed system.

 

The Treatment Plant’s Effluent flows into Swift Creek, which is in the Neuse River Basin.  The permitted flow is 300,000 gallons per day.  The plant averaged 177,500 gallons per day from July 2015 – June 2016.

 

Lunch will be provided by Amerochem.

 

The presentation will be “Coagulants” by Rodney Horne, who is Amerochem's technical sales representative.

 

DON’T miss an opportunity to network, learn, and assist other operators.

 

Operators who have certifications issued by the WPCSOCC will receive 2 contact hours toward their continuing education requirement if they attend both the technical session and the plant tour.
