Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission (WPCSOCC)

Offers Exams for Collections (I, II, III, & IV), Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator(I, II, III, & IV), Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator (I & II) and other licenses.

        September 9, 2010
        November 10, 2010

        Keansville, Morganton,

Collection & Distribution School

The NC AWWA-WEA Collection & Distribution School committee organizes 3 Collection & Distribution Schools each year. Below are the dates for the 2010 schools.  Registration information will be available as each school approaches.

Eastern Collection & Distribution School

NCSU McKimmon Center - Raleigh, NC

Western Collection & Distribution School
August 2-6, 2010
Western Piedmont Community College - Morganton, NC

Coastal Collection & Distribution School

PURPOSE & CLASSES OFFERED

The objective of these schools is to REVIEW the basic concepts in the proper operation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems. The curriculum will provide information that should be helpful in preparing a participant for the voluntary certification exam in Meter Technician and the mandatory certification exams in Water Distribution, Backflow, and Wastewater Collection.

Advanced Collection Systems
Contact Hours: 6.0, Class Day: Monday

Advanced Distribution Systems
Contact Hours: 6.0, Class Day: Tuesday

Shoring
Contact Hours: 6.0, Class Day: Tuesday

Backflow/Cross-Connection
(Class size very limited. May not be offered at all schools)
Contact Hours: 25.0, Class Days: Monday-Friday

Collections I, II, III, & IV
Contact Hours: 17.0, Class Days: Wednesday-Friday

Distribution A, B, & C

Contact Hours: 18.0, Class Days: Wednesday-Friday

Meter Technician
(Not offereed at Coastal School)
Contact Hours: 15.0, Class Days: Wednesday-Friday

Distribution D

Contact Hours: 12.0, Class Days: Thursday-Friday

2010 STUDENT BANQUET EXHIBITS

Exhibit opportunities are available at the Student Banquet for all three Collection/Distribution schools this year. Companies are invited to display products targeted towards collection system operators, distribution system operators, meter technicians, and backflow/cross connection operators. Booths can be reserved for a fee of $150 per school.
