How to Place a Job Advertisement


We will post job ads to the NC AWWA-WEA web site within 5 business days of receipt of form, ad, and full payment.  One job per ad with form and payment.

We will charge $75 per ad for a 30-calendar day posting.  This fee is non-refundable.  Each posting will be for 30 calendar days.  We will not pro-rate charge for less than 30 days.  If the submitter wants to renew the ad then they must submit another form with payment.

We will not print ads in the quarterly publication.

We will not broadcast job ads by email.  The e-newsletter will direct people to the job ad posting area of the web site.

We reserve the right to edit content or refuse the submittal of a job ad as directed by policies set by the NC AWWA-WEA Board of Trustees.

There are 2 ways to submit a job ad.  The first is to complete the Job Ad form and submit payment through our online registration system.  The second is to complete the Job Ad Form and email, fax or mail with payment to the NC AWWA-WEA office.  For all submission methods, job ads will be posted within 5 business days of receipt of form and payment.

PRETREATMENT SUPERVISOR

Job Duties: This  position will be responsible for day to day operations of a pretreatment department consisting of a DAF, sludge press and three roto-screens.  This person will also oversee a staff of four pre-treatment operators.  This operation will be undergoing an upgrade consisting of two three phase centrifuges and the incumbent will be heavily involved in this transition.  This position reports to the wastewater manager and will be expected to operate the pretreatment system and minimize impact to the wastewater plant.

Job Qualifications: Minimum of Grade II Wastewater Certification, experience operating a DAF and supervisory experience.  Experience with operation of high speed centrifuges highly desired.

WTP Operations Specialist

Job Duties: Performs responsible technical and skilled work in the operation of a water treatment facility including sampling and analyzing, regulating processes and equipment, and collecting and evaluating data for oeprations process control. An employee in this class is expected to possess the highest level of technical knowledge in the area of assignment and functions as a technical resource to the division.

 Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Water Plant Operations Team Leader. Exercises limited supervisory functions over operations staff in the absence of the Operations Team Leader.

Core work hours are from 8AM-5PM, Monday thru Friday. Will serve in an on-call capacity in response to operational issues and will fill in as needed for shift vacancies.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR

Job  Duties: City of High Point seeks qualified candidate for current Wastewater Operator opening. Work involves both routine and technical tasks related to operation and maintenance of a modern wastewater treatment plant facility. Wastewater Plant consists of such equipment as emergency generators, pumps, biological treatment processes, blowers, clarification equipment, filtration equipment, UV disinfection, etc.
 

Job Requirements: Operators monitor, perform maintenance as needed, test water samples, and keep all required records both manually and through use of a computer. This position may work twelve-hour shifts that rotate monthly from day to night or work a 5 day 8 hour shift when required. Job Duties:  Plant Operator's are responsible for the operation and maintenance duties at two Durham water treatment facilities (30 MGD Brown and 22 MGD Williams WTPs), two water supply facilities (Lake Michie and Little River Dams), three elevated storage tanks (Huckleberry, Ellis Road and East Durham) and two pressure zones including the associated pump and storage facilities.
