Purpose To investigate issues relevant to small water systems. Prepare recommendations on small system projects for appropriate section committees. Plan and promote Small Water System Committee programs and services addressing the needs of small water systems within North Carolina. Organization The Section Chair shall appoint the Committee Chairperson. Membership shall include those members wo volunteer and those appointed by the Committee Chairperson. The Chairperson shall select a Vice Chair from the committee members. At least one member should be a liaison with the North Carolina Rural Water Association. An attempt should be made to include a statewide distribution of committee members. The Board liaison is the Association Senior Trustee. Primary Activities - Maintain liaison with appropriate section committees; Education, Government Affairs, Public Information, Safety, Membership, etc. - Maintain liaison and form joint ventures with organizations involved in small water system training/assistance, such as; state regulators, rural water program, Farmers Home Administration, and state water supply operator organizations. - Evaluate training availability and methods as to appropriateness to small water systems. Provide guidance to Seminars and Workshops Committee and Meter and Pipe Committee. - Make recommendations to the Board of Directors as to other functions the Committee should consider. 2010 Committee Chair
