Utility Management Institute

Utility Management Institute

The management institute is for anyone in a leadership position. This affordable three-day course will teach you how to put effective management and supervisory skills to work for you and your organization. You will learn to make better leadership decisions, communicate more effectively, avoid costly mistakes, and get the results you want. Plan on attending yourself or sending other managers and supervisors who would benefit from this superior skills program.

Advanced Program

The Advanced Course for water utility management personnel is a series of skill-building days designed to help understand management’s changing role in today’s business climate. Leadership principles and challenges will be discussed; individual and team exercises will support specific skill training; discussions of the future of management and organizations will be central to the learning experience.

Continuing Education & Certification

  • WATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATORS, DISTRIBUTION OPERATORS, CROSS CONNECTION/BACKFLOW OPERATORS: This course is approved for 20.0 contact hours by the NCWTFOCB. Course ID: 112067
  • WASTEWATER OPERATORS: This course is approved by the WPCSOCC for 20.0 contact hours. WPCSOCC Course ID: CE040110116
  • PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS: This course is approved for 20.0 PDH’s.
  • MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGIST: This course is approved for 20.0 contact hours.

A formal certificate will be prepared for participants who successfully complete the required course objective. This certificate is prepared and presented by NC AWWA-WEA.

 

An optional university certification is also available for the extra fee of $50 per participant and is presented by Utah State University. This certificate is primarily for those needing university certification to meet training requirements for various professional affiliations. However, any participant desiring to receive a university certificate may do so by paying the $50 fee.
