Are you interested in providing networking opportunities for your employees while they earn 2 CEUs towards their wastewater license?  If so, the Professional Wastewater Operators Committee is looking for facilities to host meetings and tours.

As a meeting host, you will:

  • Lead a guided tour of your facility and answer participant questions. The tours are scheduled to last an hour and in most cases and you can expect 30-40 people to attend.

  • Host a one hour long technical session that addresses topics ranging from wastewater treatment best practices, challenges, trends in the field or any topics relevant for wastewater professionals.  You can present if you have a topic or project that is educational for the group—otherwise we will identify an outside speaker to lead the technical session. If you do not have a convenient space at your facility for the technical session, we ask that you recommend a local restaurant with a meeting room that can be reserved.

  • Be evaluated to receive the Plant Operation and Maintenance Excellence Award.  This award honors wastewater plant personnel that serve their community with a high level of professionalism and diligent work in the operation and maintenance of their wastewater treatment facility.

  • Receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the NC AWWA-WEA.

If you are interested in hosting a meeting or participating as an attendee contact
Stephanie Scheringer, Chair, Professional Wastewater Operators Committee at or (704)-866-6726.
