Eligibility Requirements for Meter Technician Exam
2004 Meter Technician Certification UpdateDue to changes in meter technology and meter shop operations, as of 2004, NC AWWA-WEA Board of Education and Examiners has combined the A & C Meter Technician curriculum into a single curriculum titled Water Meter Technician. This new curriculum will cover material identified in the “Needs to Know for Water Meter Technician” which was updated in 2004.
Those students who currently hold the C-Meter certification do not need to take the new Water Meter Technician class. They need only take the new Water Meter Technician exam to obtain the new certification. Those who currently hold an A-Meter certification will automatically be recognized as holding the new designation. Individuals with an A-meter certificate can receive a new certificate with the Water Meter Technician designation for a fee of $15. To request an updated Water Meter Technician certificate, complete the Request for Meter Technician Certificate form and submit with payment and a copy of your A-Meter certificate.
Prohibition of Recording Statement: Recording of any sounds or visual images, and use of any recording device or medium now known, or later developed, is prohibited at all NC AWWA-WEA Seminar, School, Conference or other training events unless prior written permission has been expressly granted by NC AWWA-WEA.
